CI Story

Origin of the mission of CORECHIPS

Corechips, established on 2007, November, there are two reasons of the establishment.

The first reason is that it was named after one word from 'Core Logic' and another from 'Telechips', which were famous companies at the time of establishment. Making the company name familiar to people, we were expecting to have people remember us a lot easier.

There is a well-known company named in this way, and Japan’s internationally competitive motor company “Nidec Corporation” is a prime example. Even though you never heard of it, those of you who have used motors once in your life probably heard of ‘Nidec’. Their name was named after ‘NEC’ and “Matsushita Electric”, setting a mission for themselves, to become a presence that surpasses that company.

It is not intended, but there are many similarities in the company culture as well as the origin of the company's name from 'Nidec Corporation'. For example, "Challenging third class is better than being in the first class in a poor mental state. " The philosophy of “Nidec”, which is like the philosophy of “creative challenge” in “Corechips”.

A system in which employees are heavily armed with the consciousness that they will do it, and the company recognizes it, and this is one of the cultures of 'Corechips'. Additionally, it’s quite like Nidec’s “Abandon the habit of reporting ‘Impossible’”. In Corechips, we have a philosophy saying, "If you try it, you can see whether it is at least 50% probability, but if you give up without trying it, the probability of giving up is 0%, so 50% probability is better than 0%, so let's try it first.” With this in mind, we were able to make investments in technology development, which were said to be unreasonable, and it is still doing, and will continue to do so in the future.

The second reason is that the company's name was the vision of the future, to illuminate the path that the company is to go. In English, ‘CORECHIP’ is a proper noun called ‘core chip’, but the plural ending ‘S’ is added to make it a general noun. It was the future vision to make both the 'sensor', which is the two core elements of the sensor and the 'reader' that analyzes the signal of the sensor, into a semiconductor chip (IC). The company was named 'Corechips' because it intends to develop two of the 'Reader Chips (CHIP)' with our own technology.

What is CoreChips' slogan?

Several slogans are written inside the office of Corechips. Among them, we introduce the meaning of the representative slogan “Anytime, anywhere, we can sense EVERYTHING,” what’s largely written exterior wall of the headquarters office, and what philosophy is contained.

What is contained in ‘Anytime, anywhere, we can sense EVERYTHING’

It is a slogan that expresses Corechips' product philosophy and development policy, saying, “You can do anything wherever, when a sensor is used, whether it is visible or invisible anytime, anywhere.” The word ‘Anytime, anywhere’ in this slogan was originally used to describe the concept of Ubiquitous, first advocated by the Xerox Palo Alto Central Research Center in the 1970s.

What is contained in ‘Impossible is Nothing

With the launch of a new injection molding machine and artificial intelligence AIoT platform business in 2020, aiming to dispel concerns which will be difficult for sensor companies to do around the world and grow into the No.1 company in the digital transformation AIoT platform. The slogan “Impossible is Nothing” is used to define our thoughts.

Our Logo Story

The logo of Corechips refers to the letter 'co', meaning ‘nose’ in Korean, which sounds the same as the first letter of Corechips. If you rotate the ‘nose’ by 45 degrees counterclockwise, it becomes the company logo. The reason why Corechips' logo was created in Korean is to design by hand with the meaning of growing domestic technology into a global technology.

Also, there is an oriental philosophy hidden in the logo, and the logo contains all aspects of sky, earth, and people. In oriental philosophy, the sky is round, and the earth is square. The circle and square of the logo mean the sky and the earth, and the straight line that crosses vertically means people. It means that people will transcend time to develop technology that connects the sky and the earth and refers to the intent of the establishment of Corechips, ‘Creating Value through Technology’ and ‘Sustainable Development.’ Also, the red circle in the middle of the logo means ‘pure unison'. It means that all our employees will continue to grow with pure unison. The Corechips logo looks like a semiconductor chip as a whole and is an image that expresses the name of the company and the work to be done (sensor development). Finally, the company's color is orange. Orange is defined as the social color and symbolizes youthfulness and honor, and in another sense, it means energy, achievement, and creation.
